Chennai man was arrested for allegedly running an online betting network. He was accused of cheating people through online gambling. A Chennai resident filed a police complaint claiming he had been duped of Rs 87 lakh in gambling and police seized a car, cash worth Rs 24.68 lakhs, gold, silver, cellphones and a laptop from his possession.

The accused, Harikrishnan, is a resident of Kilpauk and was hiding in a hotel near Mahabalipuram. He has been remanded to judicial custody. He allegedly converted a portal bought on lease from an international firm into a betting website by getting people addicted to it.
