Casino sales at Jeju Dream Tower jump 38% month-on-month in October
Lotte Tour’s Jeju Dream Tower integrated resort saw casinos revenues jump by 38.3% month-on-month and 506% year-on-year to KRW19.8 billion (US$14.7 million) in October, falling just short of the company’s all-time record of KRW20.1 billion (US$15.5 million) reported in July.
According to information filed with the Korea Exchange on Wednesday, the August result included table game revenue of KRW18.5 billion (US$13.7 million), up 41.0% over September, and machine revenue of KRW1.28 billion (US$949,000), up 8.2%.
Table drop of KRW143.4 billion (US$106 million) was also 38.3% higher than September and 166% higher year-on-year.
Hotel sales in October also grew by 17.1% month-on-month to KRW9.27 billion (US$6.9 million), although this was 13.6% lower than the same period in 2022.
For the first 10 months of 2023 combined, casino revenue is up 214% year-on-year to KRW120.2 billion (US$89.1 million) while hotel sales are down 22.1% to KRW78.5 billion (US$58.2 million).
The tallest building in Jeju at 38 floors or 169 meters high, Jeju Dream Tower features a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, top floor skydeck with lounge, two spas and a casino boasting 150 tables and 300 slot machines.
The casino was relocated from its former home at the smaller Lotte Hotel Jeju in June 2021 and covers more than 5,000 square meters while offering 141 gaming tables, 190 slot machines and 71 electronic table games.
