Casino Rama Staff Buzzing to Be Back

Casino Rama was closed for almost two years due to health and safety concerns. It was re-opened on January 31, 2022. The government of Ontario entered a modified Business Reopening Plan.
Casino Rama is back in business. Over 550 employees returned to work last week, while 300 remain laid off. The union is negotiating with the casino to help staff financially. The last two years have been very exhausting for staff of the Casino Ramas due to the several closures. They are still negotiating to keep their vacation pay. When restrictions are lifted, the company will look to hire new staff.
The casino closed in March 2020 and has been sidelined for almost 17 months. The company has to make some rearrangements to its gaming floor to prepare for reopening and meet provincial health guidelines. Around 400 slot machines and 20 table games were removed.
The management of Casino Rama announced that some live shows will be rescheduled due to the new government mandates health and safety protocols. Live performances scheduled for January and February have been postponed.
