Casino Rama Confident for January Reopening

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment is optimistic about reopening Casino Rama in Ontario. The two-week lockdown will be lifted on January 5, 2022. All indoor social activities such as casinos, restaurants and gyms must close down.
The government has closed the gaming property in Orillia, Ontario, due to a virus outbreak. The company is optimistic about the restart of the businesses at the end of January. In November, the company announced its intentions to restore the entertainment centre after almost two years of being closed down. However, plans were put on hold. The casino previously announced that it will be postponing most of its events to later dates.
Casino Rama suffered a difficult time after the first major closure of casinos in Canada in March 2020. The property remained closed down for almost 16 months. Over 400 slot machines and 20 table games were removed.
