Ontario Casinos Set to Reopen This Month
Ontario closed down casinos and other indoor entertainment venues on January 5, 2022 in order to prevent spread of the new variant of health and safety issues. The province entered Step Two of a redeveloped reopening plan, which was scheduled to be lifted on Jan 26th, 2021. January 31st is now the target date.
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is ready to renew operations at its gaming amenities across Ontario. The company announced that its Gateway Casino Sault Ste. Marie will be able to restart operations on January 31, 2022. Patrons will need to abide by certain health and safety protocols.
Ontario Casinos Set to Reopen This Month. Niagara Casino's Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara will also reopen. Both properties will be able to renew operations. Patrons must present proof of vaccination.
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation gives quarterly payments to municipalities hosting casinos. Niagara Falls received CA$3.8 million last week. Sault Ste. Marie received $273,611 for the hosting of Gateway Casinos S.Marie. Caesars Windsor Casino received a payment of CA $2,158,545 for hosting the quarter that started on October 1, 2021 and concluded on December 31, 2022.
