Cascades Casino Delta is One Step Closer to Launch
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment informs the public of Delta and B.C. that its Cascades Casino Delta is one step nearer to an official launch. On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, the gaming leader hosted a tour of the nearly completed casino for press and local business leaders and stated that the new 165,000-square foot property should reopen by the end of September 2022.
Soon local bettors will have a new gaming property to enjoy and the company said that the casino would have a 28,000-square-foot gaming floor. It will accommodate more than 500 slot machines, 18 live table games, and stadium-like gaming. The property will also feature the company’s trademark dining amenities – the Match Eatery & Public House and The Buffet.
Opening Soon
Currently, trade workers are applying the last finishing touches on the multi-million Cascades Casino Delta, which officially started construction back in 2018. However, the company’s vice-president of operations, BC West, Rowland England, refused to give an exact date for the official launch of the casino but said the gaming leader will provide a formal date imminently. The opening should be held before the end of September.
The company’s tour included visits to the casino’s restaurants, the Match Eatery & Public House and The Buffet. On the upper level of the property is a ballroom, which can accommodate up to 300 guests and be utilized for any kind of event. Mr. England noted that the gaming section of the casino, is only a part of its entertainment, as there will also be restaurants, and live shows.
Dan Beebe, chief operation officer of BC Lottery Corporation said that the Crown has around two dozen stadium terminals at the property. He commented that they are sort of evolution on slot and table games, as they give bettors a different way of playing these games on a big screen. He also explained that the 500 slots will be divided into categories for patrons’ comfort.
In addition to its immense gaming and dining options, the Delta casino would also feature a five-storey Delta Marriott Hotel. It is set to be the largest in the city with 125 rooms and it should launch after the casino. The General Manager of the resort, Martyn Kelly expects that the first few months will be tough but after that, it will be well worth the efforts.
Still Hiring
And in order to prepare for its grand opening, Cascades Casino Delta is looking to recruit over 600 people for its part-time and full-time positions. This week, the casino is hosting its last in-person job fairs. Some of the available positions include table games dealers, slot attendants, cashiers & count team members, security officers, chefs & cooks, servers and bartenders, and more.
Earlier this week, the City of Delta also revealed that it has selected Tsawwassen artist Gary Nay to paint a mural for the new casino. His task would be to capture the spirit of the new casino and translate it over to a 150-square-metre big canvas, which will be located at the casino’s lower entrance. The mural will be unveiled once the property launches.
