25 Gambling Websites Facing Large Fines in Netherlands. KSA is going after its first potentially illegal gambling websites since the Netherlands launched its regulated online market for the first time in October.
25 illegal gambling websites in the Netherlands are under investigation. They could be fined up to $681,885. The investigation is the first step in a new Dutch gambling enforcement policy. The new policy was introduced on November 1. If the turnover of an illegal operator is over $17m, the fine is 4%. If it is under $15m the standard fine for that amount is $600,000.
888 Holdings is considering withdrawing from the Dutch online market. Casumo was fined $352,425 in 2019 for offering online gambling services in the Netherlands without a license. New Dutch Remote Gambling Act allows licensed operators to offer games of chance online since October 2021. Those awarded licenses to operate in that country include Bet365, Playtech-partnered Holland Casino, and GGPoker.
