A Canadian's online purchase could be life-changing, as an unknown person's lottery ticket won them $40 million.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), the ticket was drawn for the Lotto Max jackpot on Tuesday, November 21, with a winning prize of $40 million, according to Global News Canada.

A press release from the OLG revealed that the winner had not been identified yet but had bought the ticket online.

"They got an email telling them that they have the jackpot winning ticket worth $40 million from the Tuesday, November 22 LOTTO MAX draw!" the OLG said. "The winner will be revealed when they claim this life-changing windfall through the OLG Prize Centre."

Hopefully, this lucky winner checks their inbox to claim their prize. Back in August, a winning Lotto Max ticket worth $70 million was never claimed, and OLG declared it the biggest unclaimed lottery ticket jackpot in Canadian history, per CP24.

If a winning ticket is not claimed, the winnings will be returned to the lottery prize pool.
