Will Las Vegas Strip Casinos Ban a Popular Bad Habit?
Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International and Wynn Resort Limited are offering reports on their casinos. Las Vegas is a city built on excess and allows people to do things they might not do at home. Caesar's, Wynns and others have to balance sin with entertainment. New data suggests it's not hard to decide whether to allow smoking in casinos, as it is in the day clubs.
During the pandemic Las Vegas casinos had to ban smoking. In the 60s, 70s and 80s casinos were a haven for smokers. Many casinos even had women peddling loose cigarettes on the casino floor. Now casinos are expanding no smoking sections and some even going smoke free.
C3 Gaming has issued a report that suggests that ending/banning smoking in casinos won't impact revenue. The research was conducted independently and was not financed by any outside party. MGM's Park MGM currently bans smoking. A full ban would likely require legislation at the state level. More casinos could push smoking into designated casino areas.
