Westmeath Lotto player wins €283000
A Lotto player in Westmeath won €283017 each in Wednesday’s draw. Players in Kerry and Limerick won the same amount.
Lotto players still have the chance to take the largest jackpot winner as there was no winner of the €19,060,800 jackpot on offer in last night’s draw.
More than 166,000 players scooped prizes in the midweek draw including the three players from Westmeath, Kerry and Limerick, who were the biggest winners of the night after matching five numbers and the bonus to win €283,017 each.
As no additional funds were added to the capped Lotto jackpot, the funds that would usually go to the jackpot were instead distributed to the next prize tier at which there was a winner and in last night’s draw, this was the Match 5+Bonus category.
The Westmeath and Kerry winners both won their share of the Match 5 + Bonus prize fund after purchasing their winning tickets online at www.lottery.ie. The Kerry winner bought their Normal Play ticket on Tuesday December 14;
The Westmeath winner purchased their Normal Play ticket on the day of the draw.
The Limerick player purchased their winning Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw at Moloneys on Main Street in Broadford, County Limerick.
Shop owner Dan Moloney said: “Everyone in the shop is thrilled with the news! This is the biggest Lotto prize that we have ever sold so it’s great news and such good timing in the lead up to Christmas.
“I;m sure that there will be lots of plans being made now for the win. There will certainly be celebrations in the store today!”
The winning numbers for last night’s (December 15) Lotto draw were: 04, 10, 21, 27, 41, 42 and the bonus 18.
The National Lottery has confirmed that notification to the users’ online accounts and separate emails have now been sent to the Westmeath and Kerry ticket holders.
The Limerick winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and to keep it safe.
All three winners should make contact with the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prizes.
