Virgin Hotels to take over casino operations from Mohegan at Las Vegas resort

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Mohegan and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas announced they will no longer be partnered at the Las Vegas resort.

A news release from the property states that they announced a “transition period,” subject to regulatory approvals, meaning Mohegan will cease to manage or lease the casino as part of the Virgin Hotel operation.

“We are grateful for the collaboration with Mohegan, and we will continue to work together to ensure a well-ordered transition of casino operations,” said Cliff Atkinson, President at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. “This transition is a natural progression in our journey to provide guests of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas with a seamless resort experience.”

The removal of Mohegan is expected to happen by the end of the year, though no specific date was given. Resort operators said there will be “no significant disruptions anticipated” for guests and team members.

Mohegan was the first Native American casino in Las Vegas when it opened in 2021.
