Valley Forge Casino 3rd in State in January Revenue
KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Gaming revenue from January (2022) operations at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, 1160 First Ave., rose more than 34 percent over previous month 2021 totals, and amounted to $50.9 million of the more than $393.1 million brought in by gambling and fantasy contest from all licensed venues across Pennsylvania, the state Gaming Control Board reported Friday (Feb. 18).
Valley Forge ranked third in all January revenue among 18 licensees, the board noted. Of the casino’s total, slots generated $8.1 million; table games, $3.2 million; and internet gaming, $20.4 million. The state’s top revenue earner was Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantville PA, with $57.2 million; in second was Parx Casino in Bensalem PA, with $51.8 million.
Valley Forge landed in first place, however, atop the state’s list of producers for sports wagering revenue. It brought in about $19 million in earnings, the bulk of it from online betting, on a total January handle of $276.1 million.
The state’s total gaming tax income for the month was $157.5 million, or about 40 percent of the revenue total.
January was a record month for statewide revenue generated from internet gaming, which totaled $108.3 million, according to the board. That figure surpassed the previous highest amount, set in October 2021, when revenue was $102.8 million.
