U.S. Gambling Industry Set a New One-month Revenue Record With $5.38 B Revenue in March 2022. March 2018 was the highest-grossing revenue month in the industry history.
The industry generated $14.31 billion in total revenues in March 2022. That nearly matched the previous record of $15.35 billion set in the fourth quarter of 2021. Sports betting saw the biggest growth at 64.6%, iGaming was up 53.9%. Table games revenues went up by 42.7%, Slots increased by 14. 9%.
U.S. Gambling Industry Set a Revenue Record with $5.38 billion in March 2022. 32 of 34 states with legalized gambling increased their first quarter revenues year-over-year. Three out of the 32 states set quarterly revenue records.
Sports betting revenue for the first quarter of 2022 reached a record $1.58 billion. The total legal betting handle for that quarter was also a new record at $26.34 billion, more than twice the $13.02 billion wagered in Q1 2021.
