Commercial casinos in the United States generated $53 billion in 2021. The previous record was $43 billion. Last year's final quarter brought in $14.31 billion, which is a new record.
There were 23 operational jurisdictions offering commercial gaming in 2021. The majority of them reached new heights for the year. Land-based gaming paved the way by leading in the recovery efforts from 2020’s COVID-19 pandemic. Slot and table game action within commercial casinos brought in $44.94 billion. Sports betting brought over $57 billion in handle plus $4.29 billion of earnings.
