US Fire and Hurricane Conditions Lead to Casino Closures

The major casinos in South Lake Tahoe closed their gaming floors on Monday due to the US fire and hurricane conditions. The fire has burned 186,000 acres and is advancing on the population centers along Lake Lake.

Montbleu resort is not evacuated and is housing firefighters, team members, and evacuees. The slots section of the casino remains open. Hard Rock and Caesars properties are also housing some displaced team member, firefighters and emergency personnel. Nevada governor Steve Sisolak declared an emergency order on Monday afternoon.

Hurricane Ida has destroyed several casinos in South Mississippi and Biloxi. The majority of them are planning to reopen on Tuesday, but some properties are dealing with flooding issues. Casinos in New Orleans are still closed on Monday. Idas death toll is four.
