UK Woman Jailed for £1.5million Fraud to Fund Gambling Habit
Karen Brailsford, 53, of Rotherham, stole almost £1.5m from her employer Urban Design and Development Limited (UDDL) over 10 years. She was employed on an annual salary of just £21,000. Brailford manipulated invoices and transferred payments to one of 11 NatWest bank accounts.
Brailsford admitted stealing from UDDL directors. She had a gambling habit and spent the money on Bingo and slots.
The defendant sent an email from her personal account to one of the company's suppliers in February 2021, asking for a return of a false payment.
