UK Paralegal Convicted of Stealing £440,000 for Gambling

Paul Young, 38, stole nearly £440,000 from his company to fund his online gambling habit. He was reprimanded but allowed to continue at his job because he had a mental health issue.
Young was a longtime employee of BLM. He rerouted money allocated for clients to a bank account under his control. His coworkers discovered his scheme in June 2019. Young had sanctioned six payments in excess of £32,000 from September 2017 to May 2019 and stole roughly £438,00 over a three-year period.
Liam Henry, 37, was sentenced to two years and two months behind bars for his part in the illegal activities. Liam Henry was Liam Young's accomplice. Young was dismissed from the company BLM for violating company policy and SRA rules. He was banned from working in legal profession in 2020.
