Hardoi online gambling addiction turned a young man into a criminal. After losing Rs 30,000 lakh, the courier company employee hatched a plot to steal. Crossed goods worth several hundred thousand euros, including cash kept in his own company’s cupboard. But within 24 hours, the police arrested the accused.
The police got suspicious when there was no mark on the lock
There is a courier company in Narayan Nagar, Kotwali city. Whose director Chand Babu alias Azhar warned the police on Thursday. Said that in the night, the thieves stole money, three laptops and CCTV’s DVR by unlocking the business shutter. After the incident, when police investigated, they were told there was no sign of any attempt on the courier company’s locks and cupboards. Police suspected that a company employee had perpetrated the incident. After investigation, it was found that the keys to the business were with the Accounting Manager Prashant Tiwari. Police caught Prashant at the RTO intersection towards Dhannupurwa.
The incident could not be seen in CCTV, hence the stolen DVR
SP Rajesh Divedi said Prashant said during questioning that he used to do the courier company accounts. The keys to the office were also with him. Prashant said I am addicted to online gambling. In which I had lost a lot of money. I gradually stole about Rs 1,30,000 from the almirah in cash from the courier company when needed. Three laptops and other items were stolen from the company at two o’clock in the evening. The incident was not visible in CCTV, so the DVR was also caught. Police recovered stolen property from Prashant.
