Gambling Commission introduced new rules to protect consumers at risk of harm.

The new rules come into effect on 12 September 2022. They require operators to monitor a range of indicators to identify gambling harm and take action in a timely manner. New guidance will be issued in June to help operators understand and comply with the requirements. The Commission received approximately 13,000 responses to the consultation and call for evidence. The next phase of the Commission's work is to consult further on identifying customers who are financially vulnerable and tackling significant unaffordable gambling. It will work closely with DCMS and the Government's Gambling Act Review.
