Toto Online Required to Pay Huge Fine due to Target Audience
Toto Online must pay 400,000 euros due to targeting in their marketing campaigns.
Toto Online has violated the law by targeting young adults in its advertising campaign. The company has been sending messages since February 1, 2022. Young adults are not allowed to be the target audience for any online or offline casino. Toto will pay a huge fine. The Gaming Authority is responsible for regulating the online gambling market. It also regulates licensing and compliance of the operators. According to the Dutch law, licensed operators are forbidden from targeting the audience of young people in their campaigns.
The Gambling Authority has scheduled a meeting with the directors of the Family Entertainment Centers Netherlands. Two iGaming companies have broken the law. One of them has been targeting self-excluded individuals and the other promoted illegal gambling.
