The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Pennsylvania Receives a New Identity
The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Western Pennsylvania will be renamed. It is currently operated by the oldest gaming company in Pennsylvania, Penn National Gaming. Penn took control of Meadows back in 2018 by acquiring Pinnacle Entertainment. In 2014, Gaming and Leisure Properties, the real estate investment trust of Penn, purchased the physical assets of the casino.
The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Pennsylvania will be called Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. The rebranding shows the company's interest in the racetracks' casino. There are plans to revamp The Eatery and introduce a new sportsbook. On October 16, the casino will host a promotion with a total of $100,000 in prizes. The casino had $247 million in profits for the fiscal 2018/2019 year. It ranked 7th in 12 casinos operating in that period. When Hollywood casino Morgantown opens later this year, there will also be four casinos operated by Penn National.
