Penn National is the latest gaming company to request to reduce slot machines in Pennsylvania. Harrah's Philadelphia and Mount Airy already did that.

Penn National wants to get rid of 500 slot machines at two of its Pennsylvania casinos. The company opened its mini-casino, Hollywood Casino York, on August 12. It wants 317 slot machine from Meadows Racetrack & Casino and 191 from Hollywood casino.

Fewer slot machines equals similar revenue at Meadows. The casinos will reduce slot machine numbers to free up space. The number of slot Machines in Pennsylvania casinos was reduced to 10,000 in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Penn National wants to reduce the number of slot machines in its Pennsylvania casino. Harrah's Philadelphia and Mount Airy want to cut the volume of slots. The state benefits from slots as they brought the state $2.4 billion annually. The PGCB needs to take action on slots reduction requests of more than 2%.
