Thailand seems more confident by the day in passing legalization that will allow the country to launch its first legal casinos.
Committee completed assessment of casino feasibility in Thailand. The committee is confident it can pitch up to five casino resorts to the government. The report will be presented to House speaker this week. Thailand is behind Japan in looking into the matter of casinos. However, there seems to be less internal strife on a regulatory and local level.
Approval by parliament is necessary to proceed with any further measures. Investors are needed to build the resorts. Las Vegas Sands is interested in entering Thailand's new integrated resort space.
