Temporary Casino in Grand Island’s Fonner Park to Open in November

Temporary casino is about to open at Fonner Park in Grand Island, Nebraska. It will be operational for a couple of years until a permanent integrated casino resort is built around the current race track.
Elite Casino Resorts will start construction of a temporary casino around the Fonner Park racetrack in Grand Island, Nebraska after the Nebraska State Fair ends on September 5, 2022. The temporary venue will offer Grand Islanders about 300 slot machines and table games such as blackjack, craps and roulette. It is expected that it will open in November, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The permanent facility around the Fonner Park racetrack will be a $100 million casino resort. It will have a casino floor of 37,000 square meters, 650 slot machines and 20 table games, a hotel with 116 rooms and two pools, spa, beauty salon and show lounge. The state of Nebraska approved sports betting in person so the upcoming racinos will also have sportsbooks.
