Strip-tease: $4.3bn Resorts World Las Vegas opens its doors
At least 20,000 people were on hand for the $4.3bn hotel casino's opening night on 24 June. Resorts World marks the first new resort to open on the Strip since the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas launched in December 2010.
The new $4.3bn Resorts World Las Vegas casino opened in June. It is the first ground-up casino resort to open on the Strip in more than a decade. The resort offers 3,500 luxury guestrooms and suites from Hilton brands. Celine Dion and Katy Perry will perform at the theatre later this year. It's the world's first entirely cashless casino. Players can download the Resort World app which generates a QR code that can be scanned by dealers at blackjack tables. Analysts predict the resort's opening will boost Las Las Vegas economy.
