The First World Hotel & Plaza in Malaysia is the world's largest hotel with 7,351 rooms. Genting Group is behind the launch of Resort World Las Vegas (RWWV), with 3,506 rooms, a casino, 250,000 square feet of convention space, 5,00-capacity theatre, 40 restaurants and bars and numerous retail outlets. RWWv is located on the north end of The Strip.
Hilton, Conrad and Crockfords are new Hilton brands. Hilton is the largest with 1,774 rooms, while Conrad is middle-tier with larger rooms and better amenities. Crocksford's lobby is a hotel within a hotels, with fewer rooms (only 236), but with luxury-class services.
There are three separate teams for each of the resorts. Service standards are that of RWLV. The service level in Hilton Las Vegas is probably better than in another Hilton.
The labor shortage was not a factor for RWLV. They received over 130,000 applications for roughly 6,00 positions. Many applicants were from out of state. The company has experienced very little turnover. Its executives work in the resort, not in a separate office or a remote location.
CES2022 will be a key indicator for Las Vegas. The rescinding of the face mask mandate could open the corporate floodgates.
Genting's property is catering to the Asian market. The upcoming Lunar New Year (February 1, 2022) is the Year of the Tiger. It's the good omen for the business.
Famous Foods Street Eats section at RWLV offers a new way of informal dining. The resort expects about three-quarters of its revenue to be derived from non-gaming options. The restaurant offers include casual and fine dining restaurants with a wide range of specialties.
RwLV is building a tunnel to connect the hotel with the Las Vegas Convention Center. The resort is located on 88 acres. It is in the northern end of The Strip. Longer term, it could grow to an 8,000 or 10,00 guestroom resort.
