Station Casinos hires experts ahead of Durango Resort launch
The leading American hotel and casino company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Station Casinos, announced multiple senior-level appointments last week. On Thursday, the company revealed it appointed multiple experts in the entertainment and hospitality industry for its newest venue, Durango Casino andResort.
As a result, David Horn, one of the company's long-term assets with significant experience was appointed as the resort's Vice President and General Manager, a statement reveals. What's more, Station Casinos revealed it appointed Chef Daniel Ye as the property's Executive Chef, while Kai Speth was selected as Vice President of Hospitality.
The resort is Station Casinos' newest location that is expected to open next year in Las Vegas. Besides hotel accommodations, the resort will also feature a massive gaming floor that will be home to the latest casino games. Overall, the property is expected to offer 83,000 square feet of casino floor.
Bringing in Horn as the Vice President and General Manager of the Durango Casino and resort comes as no surprise, considering that he was a part of Station Casinos for more than two decades. Initially, he started his career as a front desk agent but quickly moved up the ranks to different management positions.
Horn has a track record as a leader and is recognized as a skilled team member with significant experience and knowledge within the hospitality and gaming industries. Throughout his extensive career, he was a part of different departments, helping with their development and boosting their efficiency.
In his new position as Vice President and General Manager, Horn will be in charge of all pre-opening and day-to-day processes such as partner collaborations, sales, recruitment, hotel and gaming operations and other strategic processes. His appointment comes as no surprise, considering that he already held a similar position at Station Casinos' Palace Station.
Chef Ye has an internationally recognized career after being a part of leading hospitality companies from New York City to Spain. Before joining Station Casinos, he was a part of CATCH Hospitality Group, where he served as Corporate Executive Chef. During this time, he was in charge of the Company's operations on the west coast of Mexico, as well as the United States.
What's more, Chef Ye was also an executive chef at CATCH LA and spearheaded the expansion of the famous brand into leading markets such as the ones in New York, Las Vegas and Aspen. His professional background experience includes a Corporate Executive Chef role with Notar Hospitality in New York City as well.
As a part of Station Casino's newest resort, Chef Ye will be in charge of the venue's culinary operations. In his position, he will oversee the resort's beverage, food and banquet services.
Last but not least, Speth brings a wealth of experience with . During his professional career, he was a part of famous restaurants and hotels around Europe, Asia and the United States. Prior to joining Station Casinos, he was a part of business operations in Ho Chi Minh City, such as The Reverie Saigon, a premium hotel that is internationally recognized for its luxury and leading amenities.
Serving as Vice President of Hospitality, Speth will oversee a variety of activities at Durango Casino and Resort. Those include the venue's food, beverage and hotel operations, as well as activities related to guest experiences such as front office, luxury suites and more.
