A St. Clair County man is hundreds of thousands of dollars richer after winning a Fast Cash jackpot in the Michigan Lottery this month.

According to the state, a 52-year-old man, who chose not to release his name, won $886,062 after a last-minute decision to buy a Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket at Good Time Charlie’s, 15036 Downey Road, in Capac.

The player recently visited the state lottery headquarters to claim the prize.

“Me and my brother went to Good Time Charlie’s to get food and play Club Keno,” the 52-year-old told the state. “When we got to the restaurant, I bought two Club Keno tickets and won $10. I was going to use the winnings to purchase an instant ticket, but I saw the Fast Cash jackpot was more than $800,000, so I decided at the last minute to purchase a Jackpot Slots ticket instead.

“When I got back to the table, I looked the ticket over and saw we had won the jackpot. I showed my brother the ticket and we started shouting with excitement! We couldn’t believe it and were in shock for a while.”

Fast Cash games are a series of instant-win games that print from terminals at Lottery retailers. Fast Cash tickets range in price from $2 per play up to $20 per play. All of the Fast Cash games feed into one jackpot, which grows with every ticket purchased. The current jackpot amount prints on each ticket, so players always know the amount of the jackpot up for grabs.

The player told the state he planned to use the winnings to help his family, adding, “Winning is an awesome feeling and a huge relief because it will allow me to help my family.”
