A three-person lottery club raked in more than $800,000 playing a Michigan Lottery fast cash game in November.

According to a Michigan Lottery press release, the Bunker Hill Lottery Club bought its Mega Money Match Fast Cash ticket at Bunker Hill Chill & Grill in Dorr, located in Allegan County.

“We recently formed our Lottery club, and this was only our third time playing together,” said the club’s representative. “We were at the restaurant for quite a while playing Fast Cash games because the jackpot was so big. We would each throw in money to purchase a ticket and then I would scan the ticket on my Lottery app to see if we won.

“When I scanned one of the tickets and confetti came up on the screen with the winning amount, I was speechless. I slid my phone down to show the other two club members and none of us could believe it. We were so excited but tried to stay calm so that other people in the restaurant wouldn’t catch on to how much we won. It has been such an exciting, overwhelming, and fun experience!”

The group won the $862,958 jackpot in the game. When visiting the lottery headquarters to collect their winnings, the group said they each planned to pay bills and travel with their winnings.

"Fast Cash games are a series of instant-win games that print from terminals at Lottery retailers," the release reads. "Fast Cash tickets range in price from $2 per play up to $20 per play."

Fast Cash games have a progressive jackpot that can be won instantly, and each ticket gives players a chance to win all or part of the jackpot.

"All of the Fast Cash games feed into one jackpot, which grows with every ticket purchased," the release continued. "The current jackpot amount prints on each ticket, so players always know the amount of the jackpot up for grabs. The jackpot may be won at any time. As soon as the jackpot is hit, a new one starts to grow."

In 2021, players won more than $54 million playing Fast Cash games.

Fast Cash games may be purchased at 10,500 retailers across the state.
