Man wins $589K jackpot with ticket bought at Melvindale bar
(WWJ) A Wayne County man is celebrating a big win on an instant Lottery ticket he bought at a Downriver bar.
The Michigan Lottery says has announced that a lucky player, who has chosen to remain anonymous, won a $589,042 Jumbo Jackpot Slots Fast Cash jackpot.
He bought the winning ticket at Parts & Labor Bar, located at 17993 Allen Road in Melvindale.
“I was at Parts & Labor Bar and played a few Fast Cash tickets throughout the night,” said the player. “I didn’t think I’d won anything, but I scanned my tickets to be sure. I got a message to file a claim at the Lottery office on one of them, so I looked the ticket over again. Seeing the three jackpot symbols was unbelievable!
“I put the ticket in my pocket and tried to play it cool the rest of the night, but it was hard because I was so excited! As soon as I left the bar, I called my friends and family to tell them what I’d won.”
The player recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the prize.
With his winnings, he said plans to pay bills and make some investments.
“You see people winning the Lottery, and you never think it will be you, so winning is a very surreal feeling,” the player added.
Fast Cash games are a series of instant-win games that print from terminals at Lottery retailers. Fast Cash tickets range in price from $2 per play up to $20 per play.
Fast Cash games offer a progressive jackpot that can be won instantly. Every Fast Cash ticket gives players a chance to win all or part of the progressive jackpot.
All of the Fast Cash games feed into one jackpot, which grows with every ticket purchased. The current jackpot amount prints on each ticket, so players always know the amount of the jackpot up for grabs. The jackpot may be won at any time. As soon as the jackpot is hit, a new one starts to grow.
Fast Cash games may be purchased at 10,500 retailers in Michigan.
