Some Nevada Casinos Still Closed, Others Up Recruitment
Nevada's casinos are starting to recover after the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of them remain closed, while others are upping efforts to recruit staff. Clark County officials are hosting a summer job fair featuring more than 100 employers next month. The state's casino operators have also launched their own recruitment events.
The pandemic has affected Nevada's casino industry. Main Street Station and Eastside Cannery are not expected to open again until 2020. Texas Station, owned by Station Casinos, is also not likely to reopen until 2022. The Palms casino in Southern Nevada is still closed. Lakeside Inn and Casino and Harrah's Reno closed last year. Circa Resort opened in Vegas late last season. Resorts World Las Vegas will open on June 24.
Nevada operators are hiring new staff. The STRAT hotel-casino in Las Vegas is hosting a recruitment event in the buffet area. Station Casinos is hiring for table-game dealers, housekeepers and more. The company also offers benefits, such as free life insurance.
