The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing has increased to an estimated $1.4 billion. This is the game’s third highest jackpot ever.
No one matched all six winning numbers in Wednesday’s, Oct. 4, drawing. The winning numbers drawn were: five white balls 9, 35, 54, 63, 64 and red Powerball 1. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.
The last jackpot ticket was sold in California and won $1.08 billion on July 19. No one has won the jackpot since then, Saturday’s drawing is the 34th in this run.
If a player wins the jackpot on Saturday night, they will have the choice between an annuitized prize worth an estimated $1.4 billion or a lump sum payment estimated at $643.7 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.
