Safer Game Design Code Eliminates Some Gamification Features
Safer Game Design Code for gaming machines in land-based gaming establishments was finalized by three gaming sector trading bodies last week. The code eliminates some Gamification Features. BACTA CEO John White hails the agreement as a significant achievement for the whole industry. Gambling Commission's statistics show problem gambling rates to be at historically low level of 0.2%.
"We welcome this Code as another example of industry-driving higher standards to address the issues of risk"
The Bingo Association supports the Safer Game Design Code. The code will eliminate some gamification features and celebrate winnings less than the initial stake. It follows the similar code approved for the online gaming industry. The Game design code of conduct introduced by the BGC in September 2020 included a slowing down of the speed of gaming and mandatory play breaks.
