Rhode Islanders can now play live casino games on their phones
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Bally’s is launching a new mobile gaming app where Rhode Islanders can now play live casino games on their phones.
“The next frontier is iGaming,” said Craig Eaton, president of Bally’s Rhode Island.
At noon Tuesday, Bally’s officially launches its iGaming app, which allows anyone 21+ in Rhode Island to play slots and live table games from their phones, tablets or desktops.
“(People) May not want to go in to the casino at certain times. Some people may want the comfort of their homes so we’re trying to meet them where they are,” said Eaton.
Legalized last June in the Ocean State, the iGaming app has about 170 virtual slots to choose from, as well as table games with live dealers dealing the cards.
According to Craig Eaton, 62 cents of each dollar of slot revenue and 15 cents of the table games will go to the state, which Eaton projects will be between $160-210 million per year.
Eaton also tells ABC6 that the app comes with restrictions for responsible gaming, including wager limits, so you can set how much money you can risk at a table as well as self-exclusion.
“Which means you won’t be able to play for a certain period of time. You can limit deposits, how much you can put into the account to bet you can limit time on machine,” said Eaton.
Once fully-operational, the iGaming app is expected to also create between 50-70 new jobs in the state.
