Revived Durango Station Casino Project Clears First Hurdle

The Spring Valley Town Advisory Board voted in favor of the development of a hotel-casino complex in the Southwest Las Vegas Valley. The project is called Durango Station and it will be a casino with 2,000 slot machines, 40 table games, a sportsbook, hotel with just under 400 rooms and suites, and several dining outlets and bars. Construction is expected to start in early 2022 and take between 18 and 24 months. Station Casinos is selling its other casinos in Las Nevada.

The Spring Valley Town Advisory Board approved the revived Durango Station casino project on Tuesday. The meeting before 50 people was held to discuss the project. Some residents expressed concerns about increased traffic and the proximity of schools. Clark County commissioners will meet later this month to make a final decision on the future of Durongo Station. Station says the development will create thousands of temporary and full-time jobs and tens of millions of dollars in new state and local taxes.
