A lucky National Lottery player has come forward to claim a record-breaking £195,707,000 EuroMillions jackpot prize.

The incredible EuroMillions jackpot prize has created the UK’s biggest-ever National Lottery winner.

As with all major prizes, the claim will now go through the process of validation, which includes checks to ensure the Games Rules Terms and Conditions are adhered to and the integrity of The National Lottery is protected.

Subject to validation the prize will then be paid at an appointment with a Winners’ Adviser at Camelot UK Lotteries Limited, operator of The National Lottery.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, described the win as being "absolutely incredible" news.

"Last night saw history made with the biggest-ever National Lottery prize won by a UK player, and we’re ecstatic that we’ve received a claim," he continued.

"Our focus is now on supporting the ticket-holder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing and record-breaking win.”

This marked the the third £100M-plus EuroMillions jackpot won in the UK this year.

The £109M jackpot from the draw on 4 February was claimed a few days after, with the ticket-holder choosing to remain anonymous, and Joe and Jess Thwaite celebrated their £184M win from the draw on 10 May.

In 2021, five UK ticket-holders banked an incredible EuroMillions jackpot win.

One lucky ticket-holder, who chose to remain anonymous, scooped an amazing £122.5M jackpot prize in April which was then followed by another anonymous ticket-holder banking a £111M jackpot in June.

Only 16 UK players have ever won a jackpot of more than £100 million.

Mr Carter added: "Thanks to National Lottery players, more than £30M is generated every week for Good Causes across the country.

"This supports everything from local projects making a difference where you live, to our nations' athletes at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.”

The massive prize means the ticket holder has more cash than than pop heart-throb Harry Styles who is worth £100 million, Phil Collins who has banked £145 million and Ozzy and Sharon Osborne who have an estimated £150 million.

Tonight's win means the winner has more than Joe and Jess Thwaite from Cheltenham, who said in May they were "not sure anyone is really prepared for a win like this".

Jess said at the time the inspiration behind their win was her late father, who always played before he passed away.

She said: "My dad played the National Lottery all his life and constantly dreamed of winning.

"He'd always ask us what we'd do when we won, how we'd spend it, who we'd treat. It was a regular conversation and I feel like he was preparing us."

"The win gives us time to dream which we haven't had before.

"We’ve had one week to think about this and we now have time to share lots of experiences and go on adventures with our family and friends."

In October 2019 an anonymous player scooped £170million and Colin and Chris Weir won £161million in 2011.
