Player wins $1.3 million at slot machine at Scottsdale's Talking Stick Resort
PHOENIX — One lucky player can say they’re a millionaire after hitting the best slot machine play of their life at an Arizona casino.
The player, who has chosen to stay anonymous, won $1.31 million on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine jackpot at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, the casino announced Friday.
The game is one of the most popular on the floor, according to the casino, but doesn’t typically have a pull of that size.
“It’s incredibly exciting to give away a jackpot of this size … we wish them all the best as they celebrate their win privately,” Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for Talking Stick Resort, said in a press release.
Jackpots on Wheel of Fortune slots can swell because the machines are connected and part of a network statewide that includes 20 casinos.
Jackpot money accumulates any time a play, which costs 75 cents in order to qualify for the largest prize pool, is made.
Talking Stick Resort, located near Indian Bend Road and the Loop 101 Freeway, has more than 1,000 slot machines and added more to its floor over the summer.
