Paraguay Prohibits Slot Machines in Non-exclusive Gambling Venues
Paraguay's President enacted Law-6903 ‘Ley de Tragamonedas’ on April 20. It prohibits slot machines in non-exclusive gambling places, including bars, shops, and warehouses. The law also aims to restrict the access of children and adolescents to gambling-related risks and damages to their physical and mental health.
iCrop SA is a private company engaged in slot and games machine management and distribution. The Paraguayan National Gambling Commission (Conajzar) wants to delegate its powers regarding slot machines to iCrops SA.
Former and current members of Conajzar are subject to litigation proceedings. The commission raised several objections to the law adopted by Abdo Benítez. It prohibits slot machines in non-exclusive gambling places.
