OLG to Launch Thousands of Self-Serve Lottery Terminals
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is taking steps towards launching approximately 1,400 self-serve lottery terminals in select lottery retail locations across the province. The Crown corporation is responsible for offering gambling and lottery in a fun but safe way to Ontarians.
OLG will launch thousands of self-serve lottery terminals in Ontario in the second half of 2023. IGT will provide the design and build for the new machines. The terminals will come with responsible gambling functionality and AODA-compliant accessibility features. The local government is committed to making sure the provincial gaming market meets the needs of consumers and retailers. Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance, believes the introduction of the terminals makes lottery products more accessible.
OLG introduced a new self-exclusion program named "My PlayBreak" in September. The program comes with enhanced tools for players to limit their game time. This month, the Crown agency presented a travelling version of the Toronto International Film Festival. TIFF on Tour will screen local film productions and tickets for the shows will be completely free.
