Ohio's Gambling Market Sets a Yearly Record, and the Year's Not Even Over
Ohio's casinos, racinos and bingo halls have made $2.11 billion in gambling revenue for the entire year.
In 2020, the casinos and racinos in Ohio generated $1.44 billion in revenue. The first casinos opened in May 2012 and the racino in June 2012. In November, there was a 7.2% decrease in the revenue from 11 casinos. Hard Rock Cincinnati saw an increase in its revenue month-over-month. Sports betting could be approved before the end of the year. If approved, it could come into effect in 2022. It's possible that sports betting licenses could also be issued early in that year, as some lawmakers are optimistic about it.
