Here’s how much gambling revenue Ohio’s casinos and racinos had in August
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio’s 11 casinos and racinos had just under $195 million of gambling revenue in August, about even compared to the same month last year.
The state’s gambling establishments brought in $194.8 million of revenue in August, according to data from the Ohio Casino Control and Lottery commissions, down from from a record $196 million in August 2022.
The revenue figures are the money kept by the gambling houses, after paying out winnings, but before state taxes and fees.
So far in 2023, the casinos and racinos have had $1.6 billion in gambling revenue, up from $1.58 billion over the first eight months last year. These figures exclude horse-race betting and newly legalized sports betting.

The state’s seven racinos, the gambling houses at horse racetracks that can only offer slot machines, took in $112.5 million, down from $111.7 million.
