Mitchell resident wins more than $653,000 LOTTARIO jackpot
A Mitchell mother and grandmother has won a jackpot of more than $653,000 in a recent Lottario draw.
Kathryn Bradshaw, a 58-year-old mother of three and grandmother of two with another grandchild on the way, won the jackpot in the lottery’s Aug. 7 draw, and won an additional $5 through Lottario play, bringing her total winnings to $653,488.60.
“I checked my ticket while I was getting gas,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “When the music went off, I was shocked to see so many numbers.”
Kathryn, who purchased the winning ticket at Hammond Fuels in Mitchell, told prize centre staff she planned to share her winnings with her children and would celebrate her good fortune with a family dinner.
“It still hasn’t sunk in yet.” It feels good,” she said.
Lottario launched in 1978 as Ontario’s first terminal lotto game. Tickets are $1 and the draws take place every Saturday. Tickets purchased before 10:30 p.m. on Fridays are eligible for the early bird draw. Visit the Lottario page on OLG.ca
