Mass market results accounted for 66pct of total casino gaming revenue in Q2
Mass casino market results accounted for about 66.5 per cent of the total casino gaming results in the second quarter of this year, data published today (Friday) by the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) revealed.
In total casino mass results increased by 16 per cent quarter-to-quarter to some MOP16.8 billion (US$2 billion).
During the same period, VIP results – represented by VIP baccarat – dropped by 6.8 per cent from the previous three months to almost MOP8.5 billion, or 33.5 per cent of total gaming make-up.
In the first three months of this year, VIP baccarat had accounted for 38.6 per cent of the city’s total gaming revenue, with mass market at 61.4 per cent.
Casino gaming revenue went up by 7.3 per cent quarter-to-quarter to MOP25.3 billion between April and June, with non-casino revenue – sports betting, horse racing, etc – rising 14 per cent to MOP195 million.
Sports betting revenue via gaming concessionaire Macao SLOT went up by 17.8 per cent quarter-quarter, while horse racing gaming results dropped by 13 per cent to MOP13 million and instant lottery results dropped 20 per cent to MOP4 million.
In total, gross gaming results in the city have increased 45.4 per cent year-on-year between January and June to some MOP49 billion.
