Analysts: Nevada casinos headed toward a second-straight revenue record year
Nevada gaming revenue is up 3.5 percent from a year ago. Strip casinos are 25 percent ahead of 2021’s record $7 billion in gaming revenues. Laughlin and Boulder Strip saw declines in August. The control board”s top research analyst predicts last year s revenue totals will be exceeded. It's the 18th straight month of $1 billion or more in gambling revenue. The 11th time in the last 18 months the market has topped that figure. Several special events, including concerts at Strip resorts and sporting events at Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena, spurred visitation and gaming play.
Nevada casinos saw revenue jump 2.3 percent in August. The opening of Legends Bay Casino in Sparks at the end of August will boost the September figures.
Nevada sportsbooks took in $408.7 million in wagers in August. Mobile apps accounted for 71. 7 percent of total bets placed with sportsbook in that month.
Harry Reid International Airport had 4.64 million passengers in August. It was the third busiest month of the year. Southwest Airlines accounted for 1.6 million of those passengers. International passengers totaled 245,248 in July.
