Maryland casino revenue rises 29% YoY to reach $163M in February

According to a report published by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, Maryland’s six casinos brought in nearly $163 million in February revenue, accounting for a 29.1% increase in a year-over-year comparison. 

MGM National Harbor led with $65.8 million in revenue, followed by Live! Casino & Hotel at $59.4 million.The Horseshoe Casinowas the only other operator to reach eight figures at $17.7 million. 

Hollywood Casino in Perryville saw $7.8 million, followed by Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin at $6.6 million.Rocky Gap Casino in Flintstone collected $5.5.

The state-reported casino figures include revenues from table games and slot machines.

The state also received , with nearly $50 million going to the Education Trust Fund. In addition to education, a small portion of gaming revenue goes to local impact grants, the horse racing industry and minority-and women-owned businesses. 

Back in January, numbers escalated to $153 million, which represented a 20% rise from the same period in 2021, when venues were operating under capacity restrictions due to COVID-19. MGM National Harbor also had the lead, generating $67 million, nearly 33% more than the same month in 2021.
