Macomb County Man Wins $569,366 Fantasy 5 Jackpot from the Michigan Lottery

A Macomb County man was speechless after winning a $569,366 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.
The lucky 86-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the Oct. 22 drawing to win the big prize: 02-18-19-20-29. He bought his winning ticket at David’s Mini Mart, located at 38100 Van Dyke Avenue in Sterling Heights.
“I have been playing the Lottery for a long time and I mostly play Fantasy 5,” said the player. “I was checking my ticket the day after the drawing, and I didn’t believe it when I saw I’d matched all five numbers. All I could think was: ‘This can’t be right!’
“My son happened to call me a few minutes later, and I couldn’t get out the words to tell him I’d won the Lottery because I was in such disbelief. My son started to get worried because I was stuttering and speechless for a few minutes before I could finally explain to him that I’d won a $569,366 Fantasy 5 jackpot.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. With his winnings, he plans to share his winnings with family and then save the remainder.
Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing. Fantasy 5 players select five numbers from one to 39. Players who match all five Fantasy 5 numbers drawn win a jackpot that starts at $100,000.
