Lottery ticket worth over $83,000 sold at Green Bay gas station
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- One customer left a Green Bay gas station Thursday a whole lot richer than when they walked inside.
Wisconsin Lottery said the winning "Fast Play Progressive Jackpot" ticket was sold at Howard Central BP on Velp Avenue.
Part of the "Platinum Payout" lottery game, the lucky customer won 100% of the Progressive Jackpot for a total of $83,645.
It's the second time in the last six months that this gas station has seen a 100% Fast Play Progressive Jackpot winner. On May 12, Howard Central BP sold a ticket worth $222,516.
"We're excited about the win. We sell a lot of Fast Play tickets here. Everyone wants to come here and be the next big winner," said Howard Central BP Manager Matt Plautz in a news release.
Unlike most lottery games, the Fast Play Progressive Jackpot can be won as soon as a player purchases a ticket.
Jackpot winnings depend on the price of the ticket bought -- $1 tickets win 10% of the Progressive Jackpot, $2 tickets win 20%, $5 tickets win 50% and $10 tickets win 100%.
Lottery officials say the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 240,000. Other instant cash prizes can also be won on Fast Play tickets.
