Kansas witnessed a surge in both casino revenue and sports wagering in March, according to data released by the Kansas Lottery.

In March, the four Kansas casinos collectively raked in $38.67 million in revenue, marking a 2.23% increase from the same period last year and a 12.74% jump from February 2024, underlining a trend of consistent growth since the beginning of the year.

Kansas retail and online sportsbooks also experienced a monthly surge in revenue, totaling $7.15 million, propelled by a total of $252.90 million in bets. However, while this represents an increase from February 2024, it marks a yearly decrease from March 2023. The March 2024's sports betting revenue soared by 133.95% compared to the previous month.

Despite the success witnessed in the casino and sports betting sectors, the potential for iCasinos in Kansas remains uncertain. While there has been interest from some lawmakers, no concrete steps have been taken towards legalizing online casinos in the state.

Examining individual casino operators, three out of the four establishments reported annual revenue growth in March. Hollywood Casino led with a 3.30% increase, followed closely by Kansas Star Casino with a 3.03% rise and Boot Hill Casino with a 1.50% annual increase. However, Kansas Crossing Casino experienced a 4.03% annual decline.

On a monthly basis, all four gaming venues in Kansas reported revenue increases, with Kansas Crossing Casino registering the most significant uptick at 15.95%
