Impressive June performance for Nevada casinos
The 466 casinos in Nevada posted over $1 billion in gross gaming revenues for June. The performance was driven by local-facing gambling venues and a record haul from slots. It's the fourth consecutive month casinos have seen their combined receipts break the billion-dollar mark.
June's gross gaming revenues in Nevada reached $1.19 billion. This is a two-fold rise on the $566.93 million recorded for the same month on 2020.
June's gaming receipts were 14% better than the previous year. Las Vegas Strip's revenues declined month-on-month.
Nevada gaming control data shows that slots generated $868 million in monthly gross gaming revenues in June. Sportsbetting experienced a record-setting June at $315 million. 58% of this total was generated via mobile.
Bill Hornbuckle, CEO of MGM Resorts International, is not happy about the recent reintroduction of a mandatory mask mandate for local gamblers. He fears more restrictive measures could be around the corner.
