Hard Rock opened a temporary casino in Rockford in November 2021. The permanent facility received a 4-0 Illinois Gaming Board decision this month. Governor JB Pritzker signed into law a gaming expansion bill permitting a casino to be developed in six Illinois communities, including Rockton.
The Hard Rock Casino Rockford will have 64,000 square feet of gaming space, multiple dining options and a Hardrock Live entertainment facility. Once operational, the project will provide approximately 1,00 part-time and full-year jobs and pay the City of Rockton $7 million in gaming taxes.
